Kariholma Cooking Shelter in Teijo National Park
The Kariholma cooking shelter is about a 500-metre walk from Teijo Nature Centre. This covered campfire site is located by the lakeshore, south of Lake Matildanjärvi. The site has a dry toilet and a guest harbour. Start your hike from the Nature Centre in the Matildanjärvi landscapes—Forest Restaurant serves all hikers there.
There is also an accessible route to the Kariholma cooking shelter from the Kariholma parking area. The roughly 600-metre trail follows the Matildanjärvi Loop and runs along the shoreline, and is suitable for wheelchairs as well.
Metsähallitus maintains the campfire sites in Teijo National Park, and most of them have firewood ready. Still, it’s a good idea to bring a knife and fire-lighting equipment with you.
