Klovharun – A three-day kayaking trip to Tove Jansson’s island!
Klovharun is a small, ruggedly beautiful outer islet in Pellinge, in the outer archipelago of Porvoo. It was here that Tove Jansson spent her summers together with graphic artist Tuulikki Pietilä. The kayaking trip to Klovharun takes you to a setting that has been a powerful source of inspiration in Tove Jansson’s literature. Tove and Tuulikki’s cottage was built on Klovharu in 1964–1965, and they spent a total of 28 summers there, enjoying the simple island life, their work, and the closeness of nature.
The goal of this kayaking trip is to explore the Pellinge archipelago and visit Klovharun, which is closed to visitors except during this visit week. Klovharun is located in the outer archipelago, so weather conditions will determine the final route of the trip. We may also visit the island of Glosholmen, whose lighthouse served as the inspiration for Moominhouse.
This kayaking trip is suitable for paddlers who already have previous kayaking experience
