Kayaking trip in the beautiful Sipoo Archipelago
Join a kayaking trip and explore the landscapes and recreational islands of an archipelago that is still inhabited year-round. During the trip, you will experience the Sipoo Archipelago at its best: smooth rocks, sandy beaches, sheltered coves and views opening out to the open sea.
The duration of the trip is three days. We will spend the first night in an outdoor trip style at one of the many recreational areas in the Sipoo Archipelago. The second night will be spent on Norrkullalandet, where there is the possibility of cabin accommodation, sauna bathing and restaurant services.
Daily distances are approximately 20–25 kilometres.
Safely led by a professional guide
When weather conditions are favourable, we will visit the old village environment of Pirttisaari and paddle around the Söderskär lighthouse. Natura Viva’s professional guide plans the route based on the participants and the prevailing weather conditions.
During the days, we paddle through varied archipelago landscapes and enjoy unhurried outdoor life. During breaks, you will have time to pause on rocky shores, prepare snacks and learn about the nature and history of the archipelago under the guidance of the guide.
Who is the trip suitable for?
This kayaking trip is suitable for you if you have some previous kayaking and outdoor experience. The route partly runs through open water areas, so paddling in moderate wind and waves should feel natural to you.
The participant must be able to paddle daily distances of approximately 20–25 kilometres over several consecutive days and take part in outdoor life in archipelago conditions.
Highlights of the Sipoo Archipelago
Pirttisaari has been inhabited since the early 1700s. The island’s history can still be seen in the old village environment, former Defence Forces structures and recreational areas. Today, Pirttisaari is an archipelago of both year-round residents and summer residents – a living part of Uusimaa’s maritime history.
The Söderskär lighthouse rises on a rugged rocky islet in the outer archipelago of the Gulf of Finland. The views of the lighthouse are impressive already from the sea. A possible route towards Söderskär will only be carried out if weather conditions and the area’s movement restrictions allow it.
Norrkullalandet offers magnificent smooth rocks, sandy beaches and forest landscapes at the end of the archipelago trip. A nature trail leads to an observation tower, from which a wide view opens over the Sipoo Archipelago all the way to the open sea.
