Mountain Biking in Teijo National Park – Forest Trails and Historic Ironworks Villages

Teijo offers excellent mountain biking terrain, from easy rides to more challenging routes. Rent a fatbike from Natura Viva and explore Teijo National Park by bike—an easy way to cover more ground and enjoy both nature trails and the nearby ironworks villages.

Riding in Teijo National Park

A bicycle is a great way to experience Teijo National Park. The park covers around 34 km², but it is fragmented around Teijonselkä and the distances between different parts of the park can be quite long—making a bike trip a practical and fun option. A cycling outing in Teijo also works well for birthdays, bachelor/bachelorette parties, a family outdoor day, or a workplace recreation trip.

Mountain biking is allowed on marked routes in the national park, but not all marked routes are suitable for cycling. We recommend Jeturkastin muinaispolku and Tapaninkierros for a mountain biking trip.

The routes are varied and the trails are generally in good condition. Elevation changes offer a challenge even for experienced riders, but you can also choose an easier, flatter loop.
