Snowshoeing in Nuuksio National Park – Rent snowshoes at Haukkalampi!
Nuuksio National Park is at its best on snowshoes: varying terrain, dramatic cliffs and wilderness ponds are worth experiencing in winter. Follow the marked trails or quietly make your own tracks across untouched snow — with snowshoes you’ll move with ease even in deep snow and get to explore the park in a way that isn’t possible in other seasons!
Pick up your snowshoes from the yard of Cafe Haukka at Haukkalampi, a short walk from the Haukkalampi parking area. The rental is self-service, and you’ll receive instructions for picking up the gear after your booking.

Several hiking trails start from Haukkalampi in Nuuksio. By following them you’ll reach stunning scenery and viewpoints. You can also make your own route across fresh snow and enjoy the peace of nature. The most dramatic rocky landscapes are found on the north shore of Haukkalampi, which you can reach by following the Haukankierros trail.
Choose the right snowshoes for you and book:
The snowshoes are light and high-quality. Adult models feature a heel-lift to make uphill sections easier. The soles have crampons so progress stays smooth even when it’s slippery.
Self-service rental lets you go snowshoeing throughout the winter. Snowshoes can be reserved for a few hours, for a full day or, for example, for 24-hour/overnight trips!
Snowshoes work best with hiking boots and high-ankle outdoor boots.

TSL 217 – Weight limit: 40–100 kg – shoe size 35–46
TSL 227 – Weight limit: 60–140 kg – shoe size 37–50
Inook Junior – Weight limit: 20–40 kg – shoe size 28–38
Location and getting here
The snowshoe pick-up point is Haukkalammentie 32, 02820 Espoo (Nuuksio Haukanpesä, on the shore of Lake Haukkalampi). The pick-up is located at the starting point of several hiking trails — you’ll reach the best viewpoints in no time.
Additional information
What to bring? Warm, layered outdoor clothing, hiking boots, water bottle/thermos, and a headlamp for dusk or dark if needed.
