Teijo National Park is known for its many swamplands, and one of the most beautiful of those is Punassuo swamp (literally meaning ”The Red Swamp”). Along this 2 kilometer route you will get a close glimpse of the fascinating swampland. The trail is mostly walked on wood-paved routes, the swamp surrounding the hiker. You can observe the swamp and its rare vegetation at its natural state.
Punassuon reitti Trail features
You will reach the Punassuon reitti trail from two parking areas in Teijo National Park. Piikanummi parking area is located at the half-way point of the trail, and Punassuo parking area at the Southern end of the trail.
There’s no winter maintenance for this trail.
There’s an observation deck with a spectacular view on the swampland near Punassuo parking area.
There are no restrooms along this trail.
