Beginners' course in kayaking teaches you the basic paddling skills in a safe environment!
Kayaking is a versatile sport. Kayaking can be enjoyable for those who seek longer, enduring paddling trips - but it is also a great way to relax and enjoy the marine scenery. During a beginners' course you can easily start a new hobby - you will learn the most important, basic kayaking skills. The course starts with the basic technique and needed equipment.
You will learn how to rescue your paddling partner - and how to be rescued. We will also discuss essential matters regarding planning your own trips. Taking part on this course does not require any previous kayaking experience.
The course takes place at Vuosaari Paddling Center, three evenings starting from Tuesday to Thursday - 18.00-21.30 every evening.
Natura Viva beginner courses - small groups and professional guides
With professional guides you will learn about the basic techniques and paddling gear. We will discuss safetys issues in kayaking and rehearse on planning our own kayaking trips. Natura Viva courses are organized in small groups and we have the best participant/guide -ratio. All our guides are professional kayakers.
Natura Viva beginner courses is organized according to the MeSo (Finnish Canoeing and Rowing association) guidelines. The aim of the course is to give you all the necessary tools and skills to continue your hobby in kayaking. Upon completion you will have our sertificate for proving the needed skills for European Paddle Pass 1.
The length of the tour is 10 hours from which majority of the time is spent on sea. We also support continuing your hobby - after course completion you will receive free 2 hours of kayaking or the same value off from our season passes!

Entering and exiting a kayak
Kayakign forward and backwards with the right technique - and stopping the kayak.
Turning the direction of the kayak with various techniques
Capsizing and getting off from the capsized kayak - and re-entering it.
Rescuing a capsized kayaker.

Requirements: No previous experience required. The participants must be at least 16 years old.
Price includes: Instruction, kayak, paddle, sprayskirt and PFD (personal floating device).
