Helsinki city rowing boats bring the sea within everyone's reach! Implemented as a collaboration between Natura Viva and the City of Helsinki, this service offers a low-threshold way to hit the water. Forget the worries of motorboats and enjoy the archipelago the traditional way – by rowing.
Pricing and flexible options
We want to keep boating affordable for all city residents. Choose the best way for you to enjoy the sea:
Single rental: €10 / 1–4 hours. Perfect for an evening trip, fishing, a sauna excursion, or a picnic on a nearby island.
Season pass: €49 / all summer. Row every day if you want! With the season pass, you get unlimited access to the boats throughout the season at all our locations. Early Bird price €39 until June 14th, 2026!
Special benefit: If you fall in love with rowing during your single rental, you can upgrade your rental to a season pass within 48 hours. We will credit your €10 single payment directly toward the price of the season pass!

Row to the Sauna – Accessibility to the Archipelago
Have you already tried the wonderful new saunas in the Eastern Helsinki archipelago? A city rowing boat is the perfect and ecological way to reach the archipelago saunas maintained by the Uusimaa Recreation Area Association (UUVI). Pack your towel and snacks, grab the oars, and enjoy the sauna steam surrounded by the sea. By rowing boat, you arrive quietly, respecting nature.
How the service works:
Book: Make a reservation online through Natura Viva's booking system.
Pick up: Collect the boat, oars, and life jackets from your chosen location.
Row: Spend 1–4 hours out at sea at your own pace.
Return: Return the boat and equipment to their places for the next adventurer.
