Lake Vääräjärvi is a deep, relatively large lake in the Nuuksio national park. Located in the eastern part of the national park, the hike here from Hawk Nest, Natura Viva’s Nuuksio depot, is about 8 kilometers. The hiking route first follows the Haukkalampi-Haltia connection route. You can have a coffee break at the Haltia Finnish Nature Center before embarking on the last leg of the route. You will need a compass and a map as the last part of the trek will be walked on unmarked pathways.
The campfire site is located at the lakeshore, which is characterized by steep and rocky shorelines and thick forests. Sit by the lake in the darkening evening light and enjoy the beautiful Finnish nature by the campfire. All this nature experience just a hop away from Helsinki metropolitan area.
Metsähallitus takes care of the campfire sights in Nuuksio National park and they make sure that the sights have firewood ready for use. It is a good idea to pack a knife and proper equipment to make fire with you.
