Kavanderinlahti Campfire Site at Matildanjärvi, Teijo National Park
Kavanderinlahti is a scenic campfire site on the shore of Lake Matildanjärvi in Teijo National Park, right next to the Teijo Nature Centre (Teijon Luontokeskus). The rest area has a campfire spot, a water point, and the Matildanjärvi sauna nearby.

This is a great place to stop for a break—whether you book a sauna session or simply come for the views. From the campfire site you’ll get beautiful views over Lake Matildanjärvi, and the guest marina brings a lively atmosphere, especially on summer evenings. From Kavanderinlahti you can also join the hiking trail that goes around Lake Matildanjärvi.
At the Teijo Nature Centre, hikers are served by Metsäravintola. You can also rent equipment for independent use, including kayaks, canoes, rowing boats, SUP boards, and fatbikes.
Teijo National Park’s campfire sites are maintained by Metsähallitus. For the Kavanderinlahti campfire site, firewood must be carried from the wood shed at the Teijo Nature Centre.
