Head off on a hiking trip in the Nuuksio National Park. A good spot for picnic would be the Iso-Holma lake and its shoreside campfire sites.
Iso-Holma, a sheltered and a hidden forest lake is located approximately two kilometers from the Hawk Nest guide hut. The final approach to the lake will be walked through the woods and pristine trails. Once entering the shoreside the view is fantastic: Iso-Holma is surrounded by cliffs and forests and it truly is one of the most beautiful lakes in the Nuuksio National Park. One of the best picnic spots in Nuuksio!
There are two campfire sites on the shores of lake Iso-Holma, as well as some free-of-charge camping grounds. This lake makes for a perfect day or overnight trip destination.
Metsähallitus takes care of the campfire sights in Nuuksio National park and they make sure that the sights have firewood ready for use. It is a good idea to pack a knife and proper equipment to make fire with you.
