Vicksbäckinlahti Lean-to Shelter & Campfire Site in Teijo National Park
Vicksbäckinlahti is a lean-to shelter and campfire site in Teijo National Park, set in a beautiful spot on the tip of a small peninsula north of Lake Matildanjärvi. Hike here along the Matildanjärvi Loop Trail from the Teijo Nature Centre (Teijon Luontokeskus) and enjoy an easy break by the water—or stay overnight under the shelter or in your own tent.
A scenic stop for a break—or an overnight camp
The shelter and campfire site are built in a particularly picturesque location: behind the shelter, the landscape opens towards Sahajärvi with a mire typical of Teijo, while Lake Matildanjärvi stretches out in front. It’s a great place to eat your packed lunch and take a proper rest on the trail.
Vicksbäckinlahti also has a bookable kota shelter
Close to the lean-to and campfire spot you’ll find the Vicksbäckinlahti kota, managed by Natura Viva. You can book the kota for your own use—it has space for 30 people and is suitable, for example, for summer celebrations.
Campfire notes
Teijo National Park’s campfire sites are maintained by Metsähallitus, and most sites have firewood ready. Still, it’s recommended to bring a knife and fire-lighting tools with you.
